Society of the Divine Word - Chicago ProvinceI am currently a novice in the Divine Word Missionaries from the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. I received the Sacraments of Initiation from St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in 2015. However, I was mostly active with the Catholic Community at Tinker Air Force Base since I was in the military while I lived in Oklahoma. After I joined the Catholic Church, I began to discern religious life and priesthood and contacted Fr. Brian Buettner to help me in the process. While I was discerning, I discovered the Divine Word Missionaries after participating in a young adult retreat with the Archdiocese for Military Services at Techny Towers. I applied to become a candidate and was first accepted to Divine Word College where I completed the necessary Philosophy and Theology courses required to go to seminary. After finishing my coursework at Divine Word College, I applied and was accepted to the Divine Word Novitiate to continue my formation. Now, I plan to complete the Divine Word Novitiate and profess first vows on July 31. After novitiate, I will join the Divine Word Theologate and will begin seminary classes at the Catholic Theological Union on September 7. I informed Fr. Brian of the update, and he requested that I send you my information to be added to the prayer list for the Serra Club.
