Enter the Catholic Pastoral Center main entrance (off Northwest Expressway) and sign in at the front desk. A member of the CPC staff will greet you in the lobby and bring you to the meeting room for the Serra Club meeting.
Father Macario Martinez was born in Garden City, Kansas to Juan and Rachel Martinez. He grew up with six brothers and sisters. After graduating high school, he attended Garden City Community College, received his Associate’s Degree and then went on to attend Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. While at Fort Hays State he got involved at the Comeau Catholic Campus Center, this helped his vocation discernment. After graduating, he entered seminary studies at Conception Seminary College under the sponsorship of Dodge City Diocese. When he finished his Pre-Theology studies at Conception Seminary, he decided to stay and join the Benedictine Monks of Conception. He made his Monastic Religious Vows on August 15, 2004.
He was ordained a priest on May 29, 2014. Since becoming a monk, he has worked in the Monastery/Seminary Business Office for five years, five years as an ESL Instructor in the seminary, two years as Seminary Admissions Director, and before coming to assist in Oklahoma City, he worked in the Abbey/Seminary Development and Planned Giving Office.
Since July, 2018, Father Macario has been assisting at St. Charles Borromeo Church of Oklahoma City.
